Harley Davidson has definitely taken a step in the right direction towards the future with its new revolution max 1250 power plant.
They have hinted that this engine will definitely be placed in tomorrow’s lineup of cruisers.

Revolution® Max 1250 Engine
Displacement: 1250cc
Bore x Stroke: 4.13 in. (105 mm) x 2.83 in (72 mm)
Horsepower: 150hp
Peak Torque: 94 ft. lbs.
Peak RPM: 9,500
Compression Ratio: 13:1
Harley Davidson cannot continue to put out big numbers by going bigger with engine displacement. At some point, emissions is going to force them to go completely water cooled. I don’t see this as a bad thing however as a true Harley fan I would hate to see the air cooled power plants gone for good.
At 1250cc this engine is putting out 150hp which is very impressive. All due to the latest technological advances in V-Twin engines and liquid cooling. Just imaging what the horsepower could be at 1700 to1800cc.
whatever decided, it’s going to be interesting to see.
